Criccieth to Harlech
Tuesday 22 July 1997

Another very hot day where we go round the curve of Tremadog Bay. There is only the main road which is very crowded as usual. We stop off at Portmeirion, an artificial Italianate village built by an architect in the 1920s with a distinct early Disneyland flavour. Very tastefully laid out, though, with beautiful gardens and quality shops. Absolutely crowded with people, each paying £3,50 to get in. (We got in at Senior Citizen's rate of £3.00 ).
