A Trip to Scotland and the Western

Today the wind has dropped, but the weather is overcast and cold when we
start out for Tarbert, the main town in Harris. We take the main road along
the west coast, and soon come to the large beach at Scarasta, where there's
a sheep dog trial afoot on the grassland behind the beach. There are small
tents and many people standing around, but we don't feel like paying an
entrance fee to get closer, so we go down to the beach instead, where it's
rather cold and windy, so the painting gets finished in rather a hurry.
A bit further on, at Na Buirgh, there's a small cafeteria near some nicely
restored old cottages where we have a cup of tea to get warm again.
