First stop on the way today was at Kenmarra, an old market town which was full of tourists and local traders selling their things in the market place. Kenmarra is our last station on the Ring of Kerry which we leave to go on to Kilgarvan. To get away from the main road, we chose a parallel road running some 100 metres higher up a hill. It proved to be very much up-and-down, so by the time we reached Kilgarvan, a small village outside the tourist trek, we were ready to call it a day. Luckily, the only B&B in town had a vacancy, and also offered an evening meal. A walk around the town showed a small sleepy place where we seemed to be the only outsiders.
